Dr Oz"s Resveratrol - Is This the Secret to Anti-Aging & A Longer Life?

103 26
Researches about resveratrol are so voluminous that one cannot discuss it in just one sitting.
The plant chemical is known to give a lot of benefits to the body: stops pain, stops the growth of bad bacteria, prevents stomach ulcers, prevents cancer, and slows down ageing.
Supplements made from this wonder substance were even promoted by well-known experts, including Dr.
Oz.
While it is important to remember that products made from this plant extract has not yet been approved by the FDA and is only tested in test tubes and on animals, it is still considered as one of nature's best gifts to mankind.
The most striking thing about this plant chemical is its ability to activate a longevity gene.
Research demonstrated that these genes in yeast can actually extend life by an amazing 70 percent.
The research, however, was only done on yeast and insects.
It is believed though that humans have their own version of this gene as well.
Resveratrol represents a solution to one of man's most common problem: aging.
Resveratrol is known to be rich in antioxidants that can slow down the process of aging.
But when it comes to activating the longevity gene, its chemical structure makes things happen.
It works by increasing deacetylation, the process by which genes that are harmful, like those found in cancer cells, are deactivated.
When this happens, cellular decay is reduced, and cells receive greater power to repair themselves.
As a summary, resveratrol slows down cellular decay, controls the increase of abnormal cells, gives more power to cells to repair themselves, and reduces cell death.
All these factors are important as they all act as anti-ageing enhancers.
How much to take depends on the purpose.
The plant chemical can be both used for therapeutic purposes and for preventive purposes.
A daily dose of 1mg to 10mg is good enough for living longer; more is needed for therapeutic purposes.
