How to Use Transfer Papers

104 13
    • 1). Set your printer setting to print at the highest printing quality.

    • 2). Place one sheet of transfer paper into the printer tray. Arrange the paper in the tray so that the printer will print on the rough sided of the paper.

    • 3). Print your artwork onto the paper. To avoid smears, allow the printed transfer paper to completely dry before removing it from the paper tray.

    • 4). Cut off the blank paper surrounding the artwork. Leave a small margin around the artwork, which you will use to grip when removing the backing.

    • 5). Make a small tear along the edge of the printed artwork, without tearing into the picture. Use the ragged tear to help grip and pull off the paper backing.

    • 6). Lay the printed image on the fabric, with the printed side up.

    • 7). Lay a sheet of silicon paper over the image, then add several sheets of white tying paper on top of the silicon paper.

    • 8). Heat the iron setting according to the fabric type. Iron over the top sheet of paper, then apply pressure. Press the iron down for about 50 seconds on cotton fabric and about 25 seconds for synthetic fabric.

    • 9). Peel off the outer layer after the transfer cools.
