How to House Break a Blind Dog
- 1). Keep your blind dog in a crate or indoor puppy pen when she is not being supervised.
- 2). Use the same route every time you take your blind dog out of the crate and to the door to go outside.
- 3). Take your blind dog to the same area of the yard every time you take her out so that she can smell that she has gone potty there before and recognize it as an appropriate place to potty.
- 4). Take your blind dog outside before putting her into her crate and as soon as you let her out of her crate.
- 5). Keep a leash on your blind dog and keep her close to you when she is out of her crate. This will keep her from wandering away to have an accident as well enable you to quickly get her outside should she have to potty.
- 6). Make a sharp noise or say, "no," if she squats to potty in the house and directly take her outside via the route she is familiar with.
- 7). Clean up any accidents with a pet odor neutralizer to keep her from smelling the spot.
