Are Psychic Medium Detectives Real?
Do psychics really solve crimes? If they do... how do they do it? Is it akin to simply picking up on overlooked clues and putting together pieces of the puzzle that others may have missed? Or are they really able to glean intuitive information that others are not? And why is the field so controversial? It's almost impossible to get an unbiased update on cases that have been solved with psychic help or advice. Do they really exist... or don't they?
The funny thing is, regardless of what you may believe about psychic abilities, it's impossible to discount, or disregard the impact they've had in helping to solve hundreds, if not thousands of high profile crimes.
The KEY word in the preceding sentence?
"Helping" to solve. And this is where the subject art and science of what is REALLY happening when a psychic gets involved in a case becomes controversial.
As a psychic and paranormal publisher, I've looked at hundreds of cases that have included psychics, mediums, clairvoyants and empaths of all types and stripes.
And some of the information they have provided investigators is SHOCKING and quite inspiring as well.
As a matter of fact, I've looked at about 7 or 8 cases in the past month, dating back from the late 19th century to present day (2012) where the psychic or medium has either been arrested, or become a focal point of the investigation by virtue of the information they've revealed to law enforcement that no one else knew.
This alone is very powerful, very persuasive and very strong evidence that something quite special is taking place in some of these cases.
That said, for every case I've looked at where there is an overwhelming amount of evidence that the police have made an arrest, or isolated a suspect, or even discovered a body based on the information provided by psychic help, there are 2 more where the information was OFF-BASE, or irrational or even completely untrue. (several of these cases have been seen "live" on TV, and with some pretty famous psychics which hurts public perception quite a bit)
My own take is simple:
There is an avalanche of evidence, by any reasonable standard, that psychics, mediums and clairvoyants DO help law enforcement in very unique and powerful ways. You don't really even need me to tell you that - you can read the actual testimonies of law enforcement themselves. (there are hundreds of them, including the former chief of the FBI)
But rarely do you see a case solved by a psychic alone. They typically lead investigators in the right direction, and often give compelling clues that ultimately solve the case. But, as skeptics like to argue, there aren't many cases where a psychic takes a police officer by the hand and physically leads them to a dead body. (or at least, none that I have found who would acknowledge that in public)
Until that happens, there will ALWAYS be two camps: Those of us who believe on one side of the street....and those who think we are nuts on the other!
