The Rugby World Cup 2011 is the game's biggest event of the year and it is currently going on in New Zealand (9th September to 23rd October). The games started off with a fantastic opening ceremony €" New Zealand really surprised the world and outdid all expectations with a unique opening ceremony that will be remembered for years to come. The hosts beat Tonga convincingly in the opening match, much to the delight of the home crowd.

Pool A consists of the hosts New Zealand, Canada, France, Japan and Tonga; Pool B teams are Scotland, Argentina, England, Georgia and Romania; Pool C is made up of Australia, Ireland, Italy, Russia and USA; while Fiji, Samoa, South Africa, Wales and Namibia make up Pool D. The matches are being played all over New Zealand, except Christchurch, which is still recovering from the devastating earthquake. Match locations include Auckland, Invercargill, Kotorua, Dunedin, New Plymouth, Wellington, Whangarei, Napier and Nelson. The finals will be held at Eden Park in Auckland.

Although it is too early to say, many have already decided who will make it into the semi finals of the Rugby World Cup 2011. According to the matches played so far, New Zealand, France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, South Africa and Samoa are top in their groups and have a great chance of making it into the final four. Whoever makes it, there is bound to be unequalled rugby entertainment for fans across the world.

New Zealand is currently leading in terms of points with South Africa, Samoa and England following. Notable players in the tournament so far include Morne Steyn of South Africa, Colin Slade of New Zealand, Theuns Kotze of Namibia, Seremaia Baikeinuku of Fiji and James Arlidge of Japan who have done their countries proud with scoring points.
