Steps in Getting Rid of Food Dye Stains on the Rug

103 26
Everyone who loves food enjoys eating it but aside from this the food's appearance also plays a big factor in appreciating it.
Sometimes food which looks good can already catch your attention even before you take a bite of it.
Food dyes play a big role in making dishes and desserts more appealing and attractive.
Food dyes come in various colors and can help transform the food or dessert you are preparing into whatever shade that you want it in.
Food dye can be very useful inside your kitchen but anywhere else it may not be the same way.
Some homeowners experience this first hand when they accidentally spill the dye on their rugs at home.
Eliminating food dye stains is not as simple as it may seem.
If you are dealing with this very problem at home, here are some useful steps that you can follow to help get rid of the food dye stain on your rug.
1.
Try to remove as much of the spilled dye as you can on the rug by using some paper towel to blot the spill.
This should be done right away to avoid making the problem worse.
After removing the excess dye, proceed to the next step in the guide.
2.
Get a medicine dropper and carefully add a few drops of water to the stain that is caused by the food dye spill.
This step will help dilute the stain so that it won't dry up immediately.
Blot the stain with a clean white cloth to get some of it out of the rug fibers.
3.
The previous step will not be able to completely get rid of the stain so you would need a cleaning solution that will help get your rug back to normal.
Mixing a teaspoon of clear ammonia with a cup of warm water will help you do the trick.
Place this inside an empty container and proceed to the next step.
4.
Pour some of the cleaning solution that you have made on the food dye stain on your rug.
Let it set there for about two minutes to let it work on the stain.
Afterwards, get a clean white cloth and blot the stain from its outer portion moving inward.
Repeat this process until the entire stain is removed.
5.
Lastly, rinse the area where the food dye stain was before with a cup of water.
This will help prevent cleaning solution residue from staying behind on the rug fibers.
After doing so, dry the rug with a wet/dry vac and you're done getting your rug clean and back to normal.
