How to Get Help to Move to Texas

104 54
    • 1). Ask your friends or family members to help you move. Tell them you are moving to Texas, and be sure to tell them why. If you are moving just for a change of scenery, be honest with them. If you are moving to take a new job, make sure you know your timetable so you can tell your friends or family members when to plan on taking the trip with you.

    • 2). Compensate them. If your friends or family members are hesitant to drive across the country with you to help you move, offer them a friendly bribe in the form of money or food. If you don't plan to make the return trip to drop them back off at home, offer to pay for their train or bus tickets or their airfare.

    • 3). Hire movers. If you're moving to take a new job, chances are your employer will offer you some kind of relocation assistance. Check with your employer first; they might have a moving company on retainer to help new employees relocate to Texas.
