It is fairly common awareness that being obese is a dangerous state for your overall health. The annual cost is numerous tens of billions of dollars in the US for all the similar problems linked to obesity. You can put the multi-billion dollar a year sum that is expended each year for diet related solutions. The US has been slowly putting on more weight with each passing year, or so it seems. Of course the food and beverage industry does not help matters. The main issue with a lot of foods and drinks is they contain unhealthy varieties of fat and are loaded with sugar. We only have space to cover several of the hazards due to obesity.

One of the most severe effects of obesity is type 2 diabetes, and more new instances appear annually. What is now even more scary is the soaring number of cases of this condition in younger people who are also significantly overweight. The start of diabetes occurs because study has demonstrated a high link involving insulin resistance and unhealthy weight. The problem is made much more serious with daily consumption of increased amounts of sugar containing products. Many institutions and individuals have tried to help make the population aware of high fructose corn syrup in a great many drinks. There is simply no comparing between high fructose corn syrup and processed sugar.

Other serious disorders which have been often seen include damage to certain joints in the body. Particularly vulnerable joints are the knees and hips, and the reason behind that is they bear so much weight. The greatly obese person can be at increased risk for joint troubles such as osteoarthritis. Patients with extreme weight problems will not always make for the best candidates for man-made joints. While millions of people receive joint replacements, there is a higher chance for good results with typical weight conditions. Overweight people simply do not have a good solution in this case. At the very least it's rather a risky course of action because the heavy weight on the synthetic joint can cause difficulties. The threat here is the large load on the artificial joint could potentially cause it to get unstable.

High blood pressure is a very common occurance among those who are obese. The dilemma with possessing so much weight is it drastically strains the entire body. The presence of so much fat is just a huge demand for oxygen that is furnished by the blood. So that in turn causes one's heart to work much harder so it can provide what is required. The basic net effect is to create a condition of higher blood pressure. In addition to the high blood pressure, the heart rate is going to be much higher as well.

It is very apparent that obesity is a situation that severely impacts all capabilities of the body. These are merely a few of the secondary effects taken from a long list of health conditions caused by severe weight gain.
