One important thing to do if you are suffering from anxiety is o stop negative anxiety thoughts.
If you experience one time too many, you will surely realize that these thoughts are like a broken record that is only amplifying the effect of fear in you.
Technically, what is happening to you when you allow these repeated negative anxiety thoughts to get to you is letting unpleasant shock waves to get to your nervous system.
It is not your fault that you reacted in the first place because you are not used to it.
But that is where the problem starts and makes it hard for you not to think about it over and over again.
Here are 3 simple and very important steps that you must remember.
Remember these steps and use it until you are familiar with it.
The steps are: Step 1: Observe When you experience anxiety, pull yourself back and talk to yourself like an observer.
Tell yourself something like " Oh here comes the fear X.
I am now afraid of it.
" That way, you are putting yourself as an observer and you are acknowledging what you are experiencing.
Step 2: Trust The next step is to trust that it will not happen.
Tell yourself the chances of it to happen is very small and that it will not happen.
That way, you are practicing to counter your scary thoughts and question the truth behind it.
Step 3: Move Finally, the last step is to move on.
Move your focus somewhere.
Think of something positive.
If you can, prepare a situation where you can easily and quickly imagine that makes you feel good.
If you have prepared that, the time when you face anxiety, you will have no problem in bringing up this positive thought to divert your attention to.
Try breathing first if you cannot think up good thoughts.
Count when you breathe and exhale longer.
That is a way to calm your nervous system down.
Once you are more confident, then you can try the positive thought technique.
The idea is to direct your focus elsewhere and to give little importance to the anxiety and your fear.
It will slowly fade away as you stop giving it attention.
This technique is all natural and don't require special training.
You can practice it anywhere you want.
Just start thinking up thoughts that you want and you will soon gain the control of choosing thoughts that you want and have better control in eliminating negative ones.
Once you are the master of your mind, you can easily stop negative anxiety thoughts when it comes around the next time.
When that happens, your confidence will rise and you will overcome your anxiety.
