How to Light the Pilot Light on a Lennox Heater
- 1). Smell carefully around all sides of the heating unit, including the floor, for the scent of gas. If gas is detected, turn the appliance off and leave the house. Contact the local gas company or fire station for help.
- 2). Turn off the electrical power to the unit and turn the thermostat to the lowest setting.
- 3). Open the access panel on the unit, turn the gas valve to "Off" and wait five minutes for any gas to clear. If gas is detected after five minutes, leave and contact the gas company.
- 4). Turn the gas valve to "On" and close the access door. Restore electrical power to the unit.
- 5). Turn the thermostat to the desired temperature.
- 6). Turn the gas valve to "Off" and turn the heater "Off" if the pilot light does not light or does not stay lit. Unplug the heater from the power supply and contact an authorized service technician.
