Equipment Used in Recycling Paper
- A debarking drum is used in paper recycling factories to remove bark from tree logs used to make paper. Sometimes new trees are used in the paper recycling process. The trees are pulped and the paper that is being recycled is shredded, cleaned and mixed with the pulp. This results in paper being made from both the trees and the used paper.
- A paper shredder is used in the paper recycling process to cut used paper into tiny pieces that can be fed into the recycling machine. The shredder cuts the paper into various sizes depending on its type and the requirements of the recycling machine.
- Froth flotation cell is used to remove ink particles from the papers, such as used newspapers, before they are recycled. Air is blown into a pulp suspension at high temperatures and air bubbles that are emitted remove ink particles from the paper.
