    Vinegar

    • 1). Boil a 1:1 solution of water and white vinegar.

    • 2). Wipe the vinegar solution onto the burned-on stains on the stainless steel range top.

    • 3). Leave the vinegar solution overnight. The acidity will work to dissolve the burnt food.

    • 4). Wipe the stain away and clean the range top with stainless steel cleaner.

    Nonabrasive Cleanser

    • 1). Make a paste from 3 tablespoons of water and 3 tablespoons of a nonabrasive cleanser that is safe for stainless steel, such as Bar Keepers Friend or Greased Lightning.

    • 2). Apply the cleanser paste to the stain.

    • 3). Leave it for one minute.

    • 4). Wipe away the cleanser and clean the range top with stainless steel cleaner.

    Oven Cleaner

    • 1). Spray oven cleaner directly onto the stain.

    • 2). Let the oven cleaner stand as long as suggested by the oven cleaner manufacturer.

    • 3). Wipe away the oven cleaner with a damp rag.

    • 4). Clean the range top with stainless steel cleaner.
