A girl's bedroom is her sanctuary. It is a space all her own in which she can rest her head and dream up ideas for the future. A girl's bedroom does not have to follow any strict rules for design and is generally not meant to appear formal. Instead, it is an opportunity for self-expression and a display of personality. There are several bedroom design ideas that work perfectly in your girl's room. - Girls' bedrooms are often designed around a central theme and are generally age specific. A toddler girl's room could have an animal theme (think Noah's Ark), a grade school girl's room could have a dance theme (i.e., ballet, jazz, tap), and a high school girl's room could have a fashion theme. Other themes may include fairy-tale princesses, cowgirls, flowers or angels. Choose a theme based on the likes and dislikes of the girl for whom you are designing the room.

Young girls' bedding is often full of pastel colors and simple designs. Tween to teen girls' bedding often showcases bold floral prints, animal prints or geometric designs. Allow the bedding to be a focal point in the room. Consider a canopy bed with drapery for a dramatic effect.
