How to Mount a Whirlpool Dishwasher

104 25

    Installation

    • 1). Measure the installation area using the measuring tape, being sure to allow at least 24 inches in width in order to accommodate the Whirlpool dishwasher.

    • 2). Turn off the water at the meter and turn off the circuit breaker for the kitchen.

    • 3). Remove the faceplate of the machine to provide access to the supply line inlet and the electrical box.

    • 4). Connect the supply line inlet to the incoming water line, being sure to finger tighten the outer radial bolt.

    • 5). Insert the washer's drain hose into your kitchen's drain pipe until the plastic screw seal overlaps the pipe. The drain hose will measure less in diameter than the kitchen drain pipe, so the drain hose wil slide right into the drain pipe. The plastic screw seal will fit like a wheel over both the hose and the drain pipe.

    • 6). Tighten the plastic screw seal to seal the hose and the drain pipe, to prevent water backflow.

    • 7). Plug the hot (black wire) and the neutral (white) "male" plug-ins from your electric system to the corresponding "female" plug-ins on the back of the dishwasher.

    • 8). Attach your electric system's ground wire to the washer's green screw.

    • 9). Snap the plastic wire cover over the connected wires.

    Mounting

    • 1). Screw the wooden dishwasher mounts into the side of your cabinets, using the Phillips screwdriver, being sure to position them at the same level as the side screws on the dishwasher.

    • 2). Slip the dishwasher side screws into the dishwasher mount slots.

    • 3). Tighten the floor mount screws, using the 3/8-inch flex ratchet. Mounting the dishwasher to the floor will prevent damage to the countertops.

    • 4). Turn the power and water supply back on. Make sure you do not see any leaks before pushing the dishwasher into the opening.
