How to Post to a WordPress Blog With Live Writer
- 1). Download Windows Live Writer from explore.live.com, and install it. Upon launching the application, the Configure Windows Live Writer wizard appears. Click "Next."
- 2). Select the "WordPress" radio button, and then click "Next."
- 3). Type the URL of your website, such as "http://www.example.com," into the Web Address of Your Blog field.
- 4). Type the username (usually "admin") and password for your WordPress website. Click the "Remember My Password" check box if you would like Windows Live Writer to log in automatically when you want to update your blog. Click "Next." Windows Live Writer connects to your blog and automatically detects the appropriate settings.
- 5). Type the name that you would like to use to identify the blog in Windows Live Writer -- this is useful if you want to update multiple blogs from your computer -- and then click "Finish." The text interface of Windows Live Writer appears.
- 6). Type the title for your blog post using the text box at the top of the window, and then type the content of your post in the main area of the window.
- 7). Click the "Publish" button in the upper-left corner of the window to publish your post.
