How to Make Lamps Out of Flower Pots
- 1). Drill a 5/8-inch hole into the center of your wood base.
- 2). Insert the pipe nipple through the hole in the base, placing the washer, then the bolt on the threaded end extruding from the bottom of your base.
- 3). Attach the aluminum tubing to your wooden base by screwing it onto the threaded end of the nipple extruding through the top of the wooden base where you inserted it through your drilled hole.
- 4). Using your pliers, alternately tighten your nut and your tubing until the tubing is securely fastened to the wood base.
- 5). Spread a moderate amount of Liquid Nails onto the wooden base around the tubing. This will adhere your first flower pot to the base. Slide your first flower pot onto the aluminum tubing with the mouth facing up. Press it down carefully onto the liquid nails.
- 6). Run a thin bead of Liquid Nails around the rim of the first flower pot. With its mouth facing down, slide the second flower pot onto the aluminum tubing, pressing it carefully onto the bead of Liquid Nails.
- 7). Repeat Steps 5 and 6, applying Liquid Nails to the bottom of the second flower pot to adhere the bottom of the third flower pot to it.
- 8). Thread the cord from your light kit through the aluminum tubing; then attach the socket and plug following the instructions included with the kit. Add your lamp shade to complete the look.
