Side Effects of Sotalol
- As with many medications, the first few days on sotalol may be unpleasant as your body adjusts. Common initial complaints are headaches, nausea and blurry vision.
- Some side effects may persist after the first few days. Patients often complain of feeling run down, tired and being unable to concentrate. They also complain of loss of sex drive and foods tasting funny.
- In some cases, people experience chest pain, confusion, rashes, and sore throats while taking sotalol. Tell your doctor if you have any of these problems.
- Sotalol can cause fainting and irregular heartbeats. You must inform your doctor immediately if this occurs.
- Alcohol makes the side effects of sotalol worse. Do not drink while taking this medication. Do not drive or do anything dangerous while taking this medication until you adjust to it and are sure the medication does not make you feel tired or confused.
