Party Too Hard? Get Back in Shape With Bodyweight Training

103 11
It happens to the best of us: we get invited to a party or a little gathering with friends.
We say we're just going to have a few beers and a slice of pizza.
What starts off as good fun turns into a binge of bad food and alcohol.
You wake up the next morning wondering what exactly happened the night before.
What happened was that you let your diet go to waste.
Don't worry.
Happens to the best of us.
But when it happens, most people just say "oh, I'll get right back on track.
" Things don't usually happen that way.
It normally takes days to recover from such a party.
Even after coming back from a vacation, it usually takes close to a week.
The point is, getting back into the groove is tough.
But, it can be easier with bodyweight training.
Bodyweight training is unique because you can go as hard or as easy as you want.
Here are a few suggestions to help you get back on track:
  • Do 50% of your previous volume - if you used to do 100 pushups, then do 50.
See how that goes and slowly build up to your original volume.
  • Don't go too light - The biggest mistake people make is going too light.
Muscle memory is great, so don't be afraid to push yourself.
  • Increase the frequency - If you used to workout 3 days a week, then workout 4 or 5 days a week.
This is just to get your body used to the stress again.
Use these tips the next time you need to get back to training after a vacation or lots of partying.
