Memory Stick Data Recovery
- A memory stick (USB flash drive) is used to save data from your computer. Once saved on the stick, you can retrieve this data from any computer that has a USB Port.
- Memory sticks come in different storage sizes. They range in size from 512MB to more than 2GB. You can find memory sticks small enough to fit on a key chain or standard size memory sticks, which are about the length of a finger.
- Any file that can be saved to a computer can generally be saved to a memory stick, with the exception of files that are larger than the storage size of the stick. People use memory sticks to save pictures, music, videos and data files.
- Recovering data that has been deleted from a memory stick is no easy feat. You will have to download a fee-based program to your PC and then use this program on your memory stick to retrieve the files. These programs are not guaranteed to work, but as of 2010, they are the only way to recover deleted files.
- Insert the memory stick into the USB port located on the tower of your desktop PC or the perimeter of your laptop. Go to the start menu on your computer, open the "My Computer" folder, locate the name of your USB drive and open it. Drag and drop items from your PC to the memory stick, or from the stick to your PC.
