How to Find Ports on a Computer

    • 1). Go to the "Start" menu on your computer.

    • 2). Click "Run" if you are running Windows XP or earlier. Windows Vista and later users type "Command Prompt" in the search box, press "Enter" then skip to Step 4.

    • 3). Type "cmd" in the box that appears and press "Enter."

    • 4). Type "netstat -a" (without the quotes) in the prompt that appears. This displays a list of all open, closing, established and listening ports on the PC.
