Personalized Anniversary Gifts for Grandparents
- The organizer for this gift should select a standard size for squares and collect one from each of the grandchildren. Squares can include scraps of special fabrics, drawings with fabric markers and buttons sewn onto them. Each grandchild's name should appear on his square. Put the squares together into a quilt that includes the grandparents' names and anniversary date on the border.
- Create a visual representation of your family tree to give to your grandparents as a reminder of the fruit of their marriage. Make the tree out of curly willow branches set in cement in a pretty pot or vase. Gather photos of the grandparents, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren if they have any. Frame the photos in lightweight frames and tie a string to each frame. Write the wedding date on each frame showing a married couple. Hang all the photos on the willow tree with the photo of the grandparents at the top, their children below and the grandchildren and great-grandchildren at the bottom.
- Get an early start on the gift to create matching grandma and grandpa T-shirts for an anniversary gift. Write "World's Best Grandma" on one shirt with fabric paint or markers and "World's Best Grandpa" on the other. Each grandchild can then sign her name on the back of the shirt and create a small decoration to go along with it. Mail the shirts and supplies from one family to another until all grandchildren have added to the shirts. Present the shirts at the anniversary celebration.
- Grandparents love showing off their grandchildren, so work together to create a scrapbook as an anniversary gift. On each grandchild's page of the scrapbook, include a recent photo, a note and a photo of the grandchild with at least one of the grandparents. Create a title page with a collage of all the grandchildren and a message in the center that says "Happy Anniversary" and the date. The grandparents are likely to treasure this gift and brag about their grandchildren to all of their friends.
