The spermatozoa which carries the Y chromosome (for a boy) are very fast but less resistant.
The spermatozoa that carries the X chromosome (for a girl) are slower but are much more resistant.
Okay so what do I need to do before having intercourse to choose the sex of baby? If you have intercourse at the same time of ovulation then you have a higher chance of having a boy because a Y chromosome can get there faster.
If you have intercourse a little before ovulation then you have a better chance of having a girl because by the time that a woman ovulates, the resistant X chromosomes will have most likely outlived the Y chromosomes.
