How to Make a Reception Menu Card Pocket With Cardstock
- 1). Open Microsoft Word. The software opens with a blank page ready for you to use. Click "Table" on the navigation bar, select "Draw Table" and click the insert table icon. This icon bears the image of a table.
- 2). Enter "1" in the "Number of Columns" and the "Number of Rows" fields. Select "Fixed Column Width" and use the up arrow to select "7." Click "OK." This places a table on the blank page. Click the outside border icon to remove the border around the table. This icon has an image of a grid with four squares on it.
- 3). Type your menu into the table. Use the tools on the toolbar to adjust the appearance of the menu. For instance, you can select a new font and change its color and size.
- 4). Click "Edit" on the navigation bar and choose "Select all." Click the center button to bring the text to the middle of the table. Save your project.
- 5). Place a sheet of paper into the printer tray and print the menu. Cut the menu out. The menu should be 7 inches long and no more than 7 inches wide to fit the pocket. If you would like a longer or wider menu then you can use a bigger sheet of card stock paper for a bigger menu card pocket.
- 6). Place a sheet of card stock on a flat surface. It should be in a vertical position so that one short edge of the paper is in front of you. Measure about 3 inches up from this edge and make a mark. Draw a line across the paper at this mark.
- 7). Use a bone folder to score the line. Fold the paper along this line to make a pocket. Apply glue to each short edge of the pocket. Apply the glue no further than 1 inch from the edges so there is enough space to fit the menu. Press the paper down and wait for the glue to dry. Slide the menu into the pocket.
