How to Sort Issues on an iPod
- 1). Charge the iPod using an electrical iPod charger or a computer. This is recommended if the iPod is not turning on or if the player is frozen.
- 2). Sync the iPod with iTunes. Connect the iPod to the computer that you first used with that device. Open iTunes. Click on the "File" option. Choose "Sync iPod." This step can also unfreeze an iPod.
- 3). Turn the iPod off. Wait five minutes. Then turn the player back on. This step deals with issues such as the iPod not turning on, a frozen device or an iPod not syncing with iTunes.
- 4). Search for software updates for the iPod. Sync the iPod with iTunes. Click the iPod option under "Devices." Click "Summary" in the center iTunes pane. Then click "Check for Updates" located inside the same center iTunes pane. Follow any instructions that appear in iTunes. These instructions vary per iPod and available update(s), and installing these updates can fix a myriad of issues.
- 5). Reset the iPod. Resetting the device fixes issues with the iPod without you losing any media. The method for resetting your iPod varies based upon the exact iPod that you're using.
