Almost exactly 2 years ago, in 2006, Kellie Pickler was introduced to country music fans with her debut CD Small Town Girl.
She was born Kellie Dawn Pickler in Albemarle, N.C.


on June 28, 1986. Twenty years later, America would be introduced to Kellie on the 5th season of the FOX reality TV program American Idol. Unfortunately, Kellie did not win. In fact, she finished in 6th place. However, the folks at BNA Records saw something in Kellie and signed her to their label. She would release her debut CD which would debut on the Billboard country albums chart at No. 1. It would go on to sell over 79 thousand copies in it's first week of release. It produced 3 hit singles. They were, "Red High Heels,""Things That Never Cross A Man's Mind" and "I Wonder."

A few more interesting facts about Kellie you may not know. In High school, she was a cheerleader. She worked as a rollerskating waitress at the Sonic Drive In franchise. She graduated from North Stanly High School in 2004. Later that same year, she competed for Miss North Carolina, but dropped out to focus on her paralegal studies. These too would take a back seat to Kellie's musical aspirations.

Well, two years later, after that debut CD, it looks like history is repeating itself.

Her new self-titled CD has also debuted at number 1 on the Billboard country albums chart and number 9 on the Billboard Top 200 pop albums chart. The album's first single "Don't You Know You're Beautiful" is also a top 20 hit.

Kellie Pickler - The Songs:

It's a song with a positive message for young girls who feel that the only way to be popular is to be beautiful on the outside. Kellie's message is that you're true beauty comes from within you, and isn't what you buy or wear.
Another song that is destined to be a radio favorite is the pop-sounding song "I'm Your Woman." This song has one of the catchiest hook lines I've heard in a long time. The song is Kellie telling her guy that if you want to be loved, to be held and cared for, then "I'm Your Woman." You'll find yourself humming this all day.

And you know what they say about a woman scorned? Well, "Rocks Instead Of Rice" Finds a very vengeful Kellie wishing she could stick it to the woman in the song who is getting married. It's reminiscent of the song by Lee Ann Womack called "I'll Think of a Reason Later."

"Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You" is a powerful ballad that's about trying to make sense of a breakup when it looked like the two of you had it all going for you.

"One Last Time" is about spending one last magical night together knowing that you can never make it together as a couple.

The CD closes with the song "Going Out In Style." It starts you off thinking that it's another emotional ballad. This is until the drums and horns kick in. Hey, the girl's got style! When she dies, she wants her ashes spread in the shoe department of Sax 5th Avenue.

The self titled CD by Kellie Pickler is filled with songs that are full of fun, emotion and attitude.
