Disable Spotlight

• 1). Touch "Settings" on the iPhone's screen, and tap "General."
  
  
• 2). Touch the Spotlight Search tab, and tap each search option in the menu to remove the checkmark.
  
  
• 3). Tap the "General" tab at the top of the menu to return to the previous menu, or press the Home button to save and exit out of the Spotlight Search settings.
  
  

Perform Hard Reset

• 1). Save any unsaved email drafts or close out of any open applications prior to resetting the device.
  
  
• 2). Hold down the "Power" button and the "Home" button simultaneously for five seconds until the iPhone shuts off.
  
  
• 3). Press the "Power" button for two seconds, until the Apple icon appears on the screen.
