Comments
Avril Lavigne roars onto the chart this week with her new single "Girlfriend" at #11 easily surpassing the #17 peak for "Keep Holding On," her hit from the Eragon soundtrack. This should be a good sign for opening sales of her upcoming album The Best Damn Thing. Fergie has returned to the top 10 with a 20+ leap to have a go at bettering the previous peak of #7 for "Glamorous." It looks like the Dixie Chicks post-Grammy bounce may not have been a fluke. "Not Ready to Make Nice" is hanging out happily in the top 20 after an American Idol contestant performed it on television, and a new song "The Neighbor" has a very respectable debut this week.

Comments
Daughtry's double-platinum debut album returns to the top this week for a second non-consecutive week.
Robin Thicke, the hottest artist in r&b right now, rises to a new high on the album chart at #5. Otherwise, the chart is very sleepy, and things should begin to perk up a bit next week.

Comments
The top of the pop radio chart is looking rather stagnant - something that is not unusual at this time of year. The big pop radio surprise is the success of Pink's "U + Ur Hand" over 6 months after its initial release.
