How to Cook Pasta
There's absolutely nothing complicated about cooking in clay. Once you start using our pots, you might just get used to the ease and comfort of cooking in it!!!

Few things we do differently when cooking in a clay pot:

1. Before First use: Wet the pot on all sides inside and out under running water till thoroughly wet and set aside to dry for 5 minutes. (For consequent uses, if the pot has not been used for some time or is too dry, do the same before starting to cook).

2. Seasoning: Fill the pot up to half full with water. In a separate 1 cup of water add 2 tbsp. of flour, it could be any one of the following: rice or arrowroot or wheat flour. Add 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder (optional) & 1/2 tsp of cooking oil (not lard or butter). Stir this mixture in thoroughly so it's without lumps. Then add this mixture to the water in the pot. Stir it in thoroughly and let it cook on the stove top at medium heat (increase heat gradually) for about 30-45 mins or till it comes to a full boil and thickens to a broth. Turn stove off and wait for it to cool down. Pour the broth out, rinse the pot with water and start cooking!
The directions are the same when cooking pasta in your pot. You don't have to wait for the water to boil.

Add pasta to water on the stove (don't wait for the water to boil), close the lid and let it cook, check the pot in 20-25 minutes. Using a fork, press the pasta against the wall of the pot to check if it's cooked. If it's not cooked give it a few more minutes, check again in a few minutes and turn the stove off when the pasta looks like it's almost done. Turn the stove off and give it 5 minutes and until al dente. Strain the water out if there's any excess water.

There's your beautiful, healthy pasta in your clay pot, now you can use it to make any of your favorite recipes. In the coming days we will be posting several rice and pasta recipes on our blog.
