DIY Gold Detector

    • 1). Make a gold detector using a pendulum. Tie a small, weighted object to the end of a short string or chain.

    • 2). Lay a map on a table and hold the string and pendulum over the map of an area where you believe there is gold. Rest your elbow on the table to hold the string and pendulum steady.

    • 3). Hold very still and ask the question "Is there gold here?" then wait. If the pendulum swings in a clockwise direction over a particular point on the map, there is gold there. If it swings counter clockwise, the answer is no. If the pendulum doesn't move, focus on the question, visualize gold and ask again.

    • 4). Move the pendulum to a different part of the map and try again if you get a "no" answer.

    • 5). Make a gold detector using wire rods. Cut two hangers with a wire cutter and bend each wire into an L-shape. Slip two straws over the short parts of each "L" wire. The straws will allow the free movement of the wire rods within the straws. Hold the wire-covered straws directly out in front of you, one in each hand and parallel to each other. Physically go to a location where gold has been found in the past, such as a gold-bearing stream or an old gold mine.

    • 6). Visualize gold very strongly and walk around. If you come near gold, the wires will move towards each other. If you are moving away from gold, they will move away from each other. If you are standing over gold, the wires will cross.
