Lake Norman is located 20 miles north of Charlotte, North Carolina, on 520 miles of shoreline. This man-made lake is the largest in the Carolinas and offers guests a range of activities including year-round golfing, upscale shopping, fishing and various water activities. Several RV parks can be found in this area for your visit to the lake. - Lake Norman State Park is located north of Lake Norman in the town of Troutman. The facilities at this park are basic. Small RV, camper and tent sites are the only sites available at Lake Norman State Park. There are no hookups, but there is a dump station, picnic tables, grills and restrooms available to campers.

More than 400 campsites include full hookups, wooded sites, free wireless Internet and access to heated restrooms with showers, laundry facilities and a grocery store. Activities at Cross Country offer carpet golf, shuffleboard, games, tennis, swimming pool, basketball court, hiking trails, playground and scheduled activities such as treasure hunts, bingo and fishing contests.
