    • 2). Keep the batteries in an upright position. Place them in non-metallic leakproof containers such as plastic bins before driving them to the dump or waste management facility.

    • 3). Inform the attendant at the waste management facility that you are wishing to recycle lead acid batteries. The batteries will need to be inspected before you can get rid of them, according to the website ECAR Center.
