For the many people who have tried everything to get rid of their loose belly, the Tummy Tuck surgery turns out to be the last resort.
They have already tried all types of diet plans and worked out every exercise routine that they get to know of.
Still, that awful belly does not disappear.
So, the last option for them is to undergo the surgical procedure.
The medical terminology for Tummy Tuck is abdominoplasty.
Most of the people think that the Tummy Tuck procedure is of one type.
They are unaware of the different procedures through which it is done.
These different procedures are meant for different patients, depending upon their health and body conditions.
The total time of the Tummy Tuck surgery varies from one hour to five hours, depending upon the type of the procedure used.
The different types of Tummy Tuck used these days include Complete abdominoplasty, Partial abdominoplasty, Extended abdominoplasty, High lateral tension tummy tuck, Circumferential abdominoplasty and Combination procedures.
Each one of these procedures has their own set of advantages as well as drawbacks.
Each one is suitable for an individual with certain conditions.
The first procedure is known as complete abdominoplasty.
This is commonly used for people with too much excess fat and skin and for those who are looking for a drastic change.
The navel is also repositioned in this procedure.
Generally, two incisions are made; one above the pubic area and the other a little above for freeing the navel.
The next procedure is called partial abdominoplasty or mini abdominoplasty.
It is performed, more or less, in the similar manner to the complete abdominoplasty.
The one difference between these two is that partial abdominoplasty requires a smaller incision.
This is performed on patients who have comparatively lesser problem.
The third most common procedure is called Extended abdominoplasty.
As the name signifies, it involves a little more than just the tummy.
Usually, the surgery is extended till the lateral thigh.
This means that the procedure involves the lateral thigh lift as well.
Extended abdominoplasty allows improving the waist also.
In addition to this, it allows improvement in the upper lateral thigh.
High lateral tension tummy tuck is the fourth procedure that can be used for tucking in the tummy.
The general differentiating point among the other procedures and High lateral tension tummy tuck is that it involves the horizontal line tightening of the muscles, in addition to the vertical line tightening.
The other major procedure is called Circumferential abdominoplasty.
The Circumferential abdominoplasty is a mixture of extended abdominoplasty and the buttock lift.
It is also known as Belt Lipectomy or Body Lift, because the resulting scar is all around the body.
The most suitable patients for this procedure are the ones who have lost a drastic amount of weight and have too much excess skin to remove.
Last but not the least is the Combination procedures.
As the name signifies, it is a combination of different cosmetic surgery procedures such as complete abdominoplasty, breast lift, liposuction, breast reduction etc.
