Installing a Fram Fuel Filter

• 1). Locate the fuel filter along the frame rail. The filter will be located on the fuel line.
  
  
• 2). Remove the inlet line on the fuel filter. There are quick connect fittings located on the fuel line. It can be removed by prying the tabs loose and pulling the line off.
  
  
• 3). Remove the outlet line on the opposing end of the filter. This line will come off the same as the inlet line.
  
  
• 4). Unbolt the mounting hardware with a socket wrench. The filter will slide out.
  
  
• 5). Replace with a Fram fuel filter. The filter should be designed for that particular vehicle and fuel flow.
  
  
• 6). Place the filter to the mounting hardware. Tighten with a socket wrench. Ensure the arrow on the filter is facing toward the front of the vehicle. The arrow designates fuel flow.
  
  
• 7). Install the inlet line. The line will snap on to the inlet pipe of the filter. The quick connect will click in place.
  
  
• 8). Install the outlet line to the filter. The lines should snap in place the same as the inlet line.
  
  
• 9). Crank up the vehicle to ensure fuel is flowing correctly. There should be no stalls or hesitation while idling.
