Easy Weight-Loss Diets Are Not the Way to Lose Weight

Saying that easy weight loss diets (...
or even difficult ones for that matter) do not work may sound like something a senseless person would say, but it is absolutely true.
As a matter of fact, many experts now agree that diets actually contribute to making you fat.
Once you understand the body's internal logic, you know why this is true.
Jon Gabriel, author of The Gabriel Method, makes a very good point about dieting: "If diets actually worked, there would only be only one or two around, and anyone wanting to lose weight would go on one and be successful".
Experience has proven over and over again that this is just not the case.
What We Are Really Dealing with When We Want to Lose Weight Your body has a beautiful internal logic designed to keep you alive and safe.
The problem is that our prehistoric bodies were not designed for space age stresses, fast food, processed foods and the thousands of toxins they have to try and deal with on a daily basis.
These things are so alien to our bodies that it is like eating paper and mud and expecting the body to miraculously create on its own all the vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, etc,...
that it needs to survive.
Jon Gabriel teaches that we have FAT Programs that are part of our genetic code and these are controlled by our primitive brain.
This is the part of our brain where all of our basic survival mechanisms are controlled.
FAT stands for Famine and Temperature, and these programs were originally activated by scarcity and having to resist cold temperatures.
All mammals have these in common and they ensure our survival.
For example, a bear's metabolism gets the message to store as much fat as possible when the weather starts to get colder, because it is preparing for hibernation.
The bear gets lethargic (not lazy), looks for a nice cave to spend the winter and eventually falls asleep until spring.
This is beautiful logic, because the excess fat keeps the animal warm and is also what keeps his metabolism alive.
So how does the body respond to This "Modern food"? Fast food and highly processed foods are almost completely stripped of their nutritional value, so what the body is actually receiving is mostly empty calories and toxins.
It stores these calories because it is under the impression that real nutrition is scarce.
This is interpreted as famine situation by your primitive brain.
Fat is a buffer for toxins and helps to isolate them from getting into our system.
The body is constantly being overwhelmed by toxins, so it never gets a chance to eliminate them and they remain in our fat cells.
So, Instead of Easy Weight Loss Diets, What Can I Do to Really Lose Weight? You need to feed your body things that it can understand.
The food that it is really starving for is not processed.
It needs food in its natural state.
There are a plethora of essential minerals, vitamins, protein, fatty acids that have been stripped from the food we eat and our bodies are in constant "nutritional famine" because of it.
John Gabriel's concept is not to take away anything from your diet, but to add the things that your body is really starving for.
The purpose of The Gabriel Method is to understand what activates our FAT programs and how to go about turning them off.
