Kukkarahalli Lake:
Located in the Mysore University campus, Kukkarahalli Lake is right in the middle of Manasagangothri and serves as bird-watcher's paradise with around 180 species of birds, largely aquatic, that are found here. This awe-inspiring lake is visited by a variety of migratory birds during winter. Bird watchers can take a peaceful walk through the 4.5 kms of walkway bordering the tranquil lake. Boating facilities are provided here at nominal rates.
Lingabudi Lake:
Lingabudi Lake, situated in Sriramapura, is one of the most popular lakes in Mysore, Karnataka that is for the people seeking mind-body-soul balance as it is perfectly situated besides a lush green park and attracts numerous birds species. It is around 8 kms from the city-center. This lake, named after Lingajammanni, a royal member of the Wodeyar family, has retained its old-world charm and this is proved by the Mantapa, a four-pillared stone that stands tall, left from an old empire. In old times, this lake was built to be utilized as an irrigation facility for about 200 acres of land in the surrounding regions.
