Decoration for a Bridal Show
- If your show space is rather plain, such as a gymnasium or a large, warehouse-style room, chances are that the ceiling needs a bit of a dressing up. Give the room a lovely treatment by draping the ceiling in fabric. This style is commonly seen at weddings themselves, as some reception spaces do not coordinate with the chosen bridal decor. Hang the fabric panels from the middle of the room and pull them outwards to the walls. This will create a sloping, tent-like effect and add some visual height to the space. To add some color, choose white fabric and project soft colored lighting onto the panels for a reception-worthy effect.
- Though the owner's individual booth will bring in their own decor to represent their services, you should give them a few elements to work with. Begin by setting up dividers between each booth and draping them in a neutral colored fabric, such as white or ivory. Give each booth a pair of tables to allow them to display their portfolios or a computer-based slide show. Encourage the booth owners to decorate the booths to the same standard the day before the event begins so that the show space looks its best.
- Catwalks at bridal shows are usually the focal point of the day. Additionally, since all the bridal boutiques with collections will use it, it is usually the show's host who decorates it. Cover the open space below the risers with neutral colored cloth so that there are no gaps between the risers and the floor. Hang curtains on both wings so that the audience cannot see the models waiting to come out. It is important to present the stage as a smooth plane so as to not distract from the gowns on the runway. However, you can dress it up beyond this stage. Incorporate your theme into your decorations, such as pillars and vines for a "Midsummer Night's Dream" theme or try oversized silk flowers for a garden theme.
- If the floor of your event is an eyesore, such as drab concrete or stained carpet, consider renting long runners of carpet to line the aisles. These will cover up the floor in the areas where your clients will be shopping, and they can also work to tie your color theme further into the decor. Pale pink, white or even red carpet will brighten up the space and add an element of princess-worthy glamour to the event.
