How to Install a Ceiling Fan in a Low Ceiling
- 1). Feed the electrical wires in the ceiling through the mounting plate. Push the mounting plate flush to the ceiling and secure with the screws provided in the package and a screwdriver. Climb down the ladder. Look at the mounting plate to make sure it is straight and not crooked, and if it is not straight, add a few washers between the conduit box and the mounting plate.
- 2). Push the rubber mount on the motor of the ceiling fan into the mounting plate and secure with the hooks provided. Connect the green wire from the ceiling and motor to the ground screw in the junction box. Connect the black wire from the ceiling to the fan's motor black wire. Connect the white wire from the ceiling to the fan's motor white wire. Secure all wires with wire nuts.
- 3). Connect the fan blade to the blade brackets and secure with screws. Feed the motor wires through the motor cover. Attach the motor cover to the mounting plate on the ceiling and secure with screws. Connect the fan bracket (the one that holds the fan) to the motor and secure with the screws provided. Use a leveler to confirm that the blades on the ceiling fan are level.
- 4). Feed the motor control wires through the control unit plate on the motor. Attach the control unit plate to the bottom of the motor and secure with screws. Connect the motor's control plug to the motor plug on the ceiling fan. Connect the housing on the motor to the base plate and secure with the provided screws. Turn on the circuit breaker or fuse box. Test the ceiling fan.
