XSI Texturing Tutorial
- 1). Save the file of the texture you wish to use on your hard drive.
- 2). Create a polygon mesh object in XSI by going to "Primitive," "Polygon Mesh," followed by "Cube." Shape the cube into your desired object by extruding portions of the polygon mesh, and adding edges or verticies. These commands can be found under the Model, Polygon Mesh menu.
- 3). Click the "Object" button on the Select menu. Select the object you wish to texture. Select "Render" at the top menu, then under the Get section, select "Texture and Image."
- 4). Rename the texture file accordingly. Press the "Edit" button next to the texture name. In the next new window, scroll down and click a button on the right that says "..." and then select the texture you have previously saved to use on your polygon mesh object.
- 5). Click the arrow pointing left on top of the menu to return to the Texture window. Map the texture onto the object by clicking the "New" button on the Texture Projection box and selecting "Unique UV's."
- 6). View your textured object by selecting the "Render" menu and then "Preview."
