Minnesota Land Stewardship Project
- The LSP defines its mission as "fostering an ethic of stewardship for farmland, promoting sustainable agriculture, and developing sustainable communities." According to Brian Devore, communications coordinator, the LSP promotes, "sustainable farming practices that leave the land better than it was originally and restores its bio-diversity."
- The organization's goals include ensuring a healthy food supply, supporting profitable family farms, and preserving our natural resources. It also works toward organizing communities to promote change in current food practices.
- The project has four programs: Community-based Foods, Farm Beginnings, Policy and Organizing, and Stewardship Science. As a grassroots organization, its members promote the development of a healthy food supply, community-based education and action, and support of family farms and young farmers.
- The concepts of ethical application and practice of sustainable agriculture are primary aspects of the organization. Along with sustainability, the projects works to further the principle of stewardship, or ethical caring, of natural and human resources.
