Sevylor is one of the largest manufacturers of inflatable canoes and inflatable kayaks.  Their models are extremely popular as they tend to be affordable, convenient and fun to use.

Their two most popular inflatable canoes are the Sevylor Rio and the Sevylor Colorado.  Both of these canoes are modeled after traditional North American Indian canoes and look great when inflated.  Below is some information and comparisons on both.

Sevylor Rio

The Rio is a solo canoe that weighs only 25 lbs.  For this reason it is very portable and easy to bring anywhere you need to go.  It comes with a flexible bucket seat, a removable mesh stern storage bag, a repair kit and a nylon carrying bag.

The nice thing about the Rio is that it has the option of adding a 12-volt motor.  The addition of the motor makes it ideal for fishing and for those who would like a break from paddling.

Although this canoe can be paddled on a lake, it manoeuvres best in moving water such as a river.  It can be paddled with a canoe paddle or a kayak paddle and comes with convenient paddle/oar holders.

There is decent room in the Sevylor Rio for cargo and it has a load capacity of 350 lbs.

Sevylor Colorado

The Colorado is the two person inflatable canoe that weighs 32 lbs.  This model comes with all the same accessories as the Rio and has a load capacity of 440 lbs.

The Colorado tends to track a little better in flat water with its two directional strakes and also works well for fishing with the optional 12-volt motor.

I found sitting in the Colorado to be a little bit of a tighter fit than the Rio even though it is the longer of the two models.

Both canoes are stable, comfortable, easy to set up, very portable and great for recreational use.  They each come with a one year warranty.
