Race Street Pier
Race Street Pier opened to the public as a civic space in May 2011, but the pier's history can be traced back to 1896. Then known as Municipal Pier 11, the pier hosted a bi-level structure used for recreation and processing goods for shipment down the Delaware River.
An homage to its past, Race Street Pier also encompasses two levels: an upper level deck interspersed with oak trees and bench seating and a lower level that serves as a recreational area replete with garden beds and grassy areas.
Both share the stately Benjamin Franklin Bridge as their backdrop.
