  At Halloween events, a clever, funny costume can set you apart from the throngs of witches and sexy nurses. As you plan a costume, consider how you can play on common sayings and stereotypes to make an outfit that will get a laugh out of other Halloween revelers.
  
  

Neighbor of the Beast

• For a quick, simple costume, be the neighbor of the beast. Wear a plain white T-shirt and whatever jeans you want. On the front of the shirt, write the number 665; on the back, write "Neighbor of the Beast" to play on the idea of 666 being the sign of the devil. Paint your face, neck, and arms in green or red, and add tiny devil horns and a tail to complete the costume.
  
  

Partly Cloudy with a Chance of Rain

• Make an interactive costume that will get a laugh out of party guests by dressing all in blue; cut cloud-shaped pieces of gray felt and glue them to your clothing, or use bunches of cotton balls. Hook a spray bottle in your belt or waistband. Whenever someone asks you what you are, say, "Partly cloudy with a chance of rain," and squirt them with the bottle.
  
  

God's Gift to Women

• For a male costume, find a large box, and cut out holes for your head and arms. Glue or tape the flaps on the top securely shut ,and leave the bottom open. Wrap the box in wrapping paper, and tie an enormous ribbon bow on the front. Add a huge gift tag on the front with the words "To: Women, From: God." This is best for a man who can stand a lot of teasing throughout the night.
  
  

Flasher

• If you are going to be at a party with only adults in attendance, go as a flasher. Find a long trench coat that is big enough to shut comfortably. Wear a nude-colored leotard if you are a woman, and wear a small pair of nude shorts if you are a man. When someone asks what you are, open your coat quickly to "flash" them, then run away.
  
  

Cereal Killer

• Find a matching sweatpants and sweatshirt set, and glue or sew miniature boxes of cereal all over it. Find small plastic knives, and stick them into the cereal boxes so that they stand out at odd angles. To increase the crazy look, create dark circles under your eyes with makeup.
