Can I Put Thinset Over Floor Primer?
- 1). Pour some water into your thinset mortar and mix it. Use enough water to give the mortar a consistency similar to peanut butter.
- 2). Dip your drywall trowel into the mixture, putting a moderate amount on the corner. This should be the size of a softball, or a bit larger than a baseball.
- 3). Apply the thinset to the piece of tile, slightly angling the trowel and pushing it toward each of the four edges. Continue pushing the thinset toward the edge until it is even throughout the tile.
- 4). Place the tile on the floor where you want it to be. Push it firmly to ensure the adhesive sticks to the ground.
- 5). Repeat Steps 2 through 4 with the remaining tiles.
