Romantic Christmas Ideas
- Use the traditional "The Twelve Days of Christmas" song to express your feelings. For example, on the first day of Christmas, you might give a box of candy, and on the second two simple earrings and so on. Continue this until the 12th day, when you can give 12 red roses.
- If the first Christmas gift you gave your spouse was one he or she particularly liked, you might want to get her something similar to act as a connection with that long ago Christmas. For example, if you gave her earrings, you might get her a matching necklace, or if you gave her a book by her favorite author, you might give her a signed copy of his latest work.
- Surprise your spouse with a Christmas trip for just the two of you, leaving the kids with friends or family. This can be weekend ski trip to enjoy the snow, but you might also choose a locale that gets you both away from the cold wind and snow for a while, such as the sunny beaches of Hawaii or Bermuda.
- While the process of creating a big Christmas feast is supposed to be part of the magic of Christmas, in fact it can be quite stressful, and even unnecessary if the kids won't be home for Christmas this year. If this Christmas it is just going to be the two of you, treat your spouse by having Christmas dinner at a restaurant instead of at home. That way you can both relax and have a good time.
