Homemade Remedy for White Powdery Mildew on Zucchini
- 1). Mix 1 cup of skim milk with 9 cups of water. Pour the mixture into a garden sprayer. The amino acids and salts in the skim milk combat powdery mildew naturally.
- 2). Spray both the top and bottom of the leaves, as well as other infected areas, with the mixture.
- 3). Repeat the steps every two days until the powdery mildew is no longer present.
- 4). Alternatively, mix 1 gallon of water with 1 tablespoon of baking soda and add to a garden sprayer. Apply the mixture to all infected areas of the zucchini plant every three days.
- 1). Provide susceptible plants with cover, to prevent an excess of moisture from rain.
- 2). Water the plants in the early morning to give them enough time to dry. Try not to get the leaves wet when watering.
- 3). Keep the area under the plants free from debris. Remove leaves, branches and other items to keep mildew and fungus at bay.
