How to Carve a Watermelon Punch Bowl
- 1). Place the watermelon on its side on a baking sheet. Cover the baking sheet with a towel to absorb juices.
- 2). Create a stable base on the bottom of the watermelon but cutting a thin slice. Do not cut the slice too deep, or the punch will leak out of the watermelon.
- 3). Cut a large hole in the top third of the watermelon. You can draw a large circle with a water-soluble marker to ensure that you cut an even hole.
- 4). Remove the fruit from the watermelon with a melon ball utensil. You can also you a large spoon. Remove all the fruit until you see the white rind.
- 5). Create points on the edge of the watermelon bowl with a sharp knife. Cut the edges to create a zigzag pattern.
- 6). Cover the watermelon with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator. Fill the punch bowl with your preferred punch when you are ready to use it.
