Golden State Loses Its Luster-And Almost Everything Else (Part One)
California has not only lost its luster; it has also lost its integrity, its reputation, and its collective mind.
Long gone are the heady days of the 1848 Gold Rush that put the Golden State on the map and into the Union two years later. Long gone, too, are the glory days of the twentieth century when the Republican-dominated state twice elected Ronald Wilson Reagan as governor and California prospered like few other states in the nation.
Today, the state that touts "Eureka!" as its motto is on the verge of bankruptcyand is home to Stockton and San Bernardino, the two largest cities in the country which have already filed for bankruptcy. It's overrun with criminals after liberal-leftist Democrat Gov. Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown loosed thousands of them from state prisons. It's inhabited by millions of illegal aliens rapidly changing its American culture and language into a Latino culture and Spanish language. And it's burdened with some of the highest tax rates in the land, in large part to pay for outrageous public pensions and ultra-extravagant welfare programs-for Latinos, illegal or not.
"Eureka," ancient Greek for "I have found (it)," has taken on a whole new meaning for Californians. What the state's 38,000,000 residents now find is disappointment and a dismal future-except for the Latinos, many of whom such as the subversive National Council of La Raza are striving to "reunite" California with Mexico.
Most liberal-leftists aren't much concerned with La Raza-especially those in Tinseltown. What most concerns Hollywood-types, and wannabe Hollywood-types like Bill Maher, is how much cash government is picking out of their pockets.
(For those who don't keep up with the activities of "entertainers," Maher is the failed stand-up comic who wasn't funny so resorted to becoming a far-out, obscene lib-leftist political pundit, scored a talk show on HBO which just loves that type, became a multi-millionaire, and then bragged about contributing one of those millions toward the re-election of Barack Hussein Obama.)
In a recent statement which surely must have shaken Gov. Moonbeam's to his very soul, Maher bitched about his state's high taxes: "ln California, I just want to say: Liberals -- you could actually lose me" because his taxes are "over 50 percent." In a rare exhibition of honesty, Maher then added that "Rich people... actually do pay the freight in this country... like 70 percent" of the taxes. To explain: When "the filthy, clueless, racist, sexist, homophobic, selfish, greedy rich" oppress someone they're regarded as very bad people to lib-leftists. However, when government bites their hypocritical asses with taxes they deem oppressive, the rich evolve into virtual Tea Partiers.
I imagine if California "loses" Bill Maher, many Golden Staters will be dancing in the streets. Well, not really but some of the few surviving conservatives out there just might scream "Eureka!" at the realization that they had found one more phony liberal-leftist in their midst, even if he is a nonentity.
