Repairing Particle Board With Wood Filler
- 1). Scrape out the broken area, using an awl to remove loose particles. Don't dig too hard; particle board will fall apart if excessive pressure is used.
- 2). Mix the wood putty according to instructions on the box.
- 3). Apply the wood filler into the particle board using the applicator bottle that came with the putty.
- 4). Allow the putty to dry for 20 to 30 minutes.
- 5). Cover the patch with masking tapes on all side to protect the good wood. Sand the wood putty smooth and flush with the rest of the wood. Paint the wood putty the same color as the rest of the particle board.
