2011 Ford F-Series Trucks Recall
2011 Ford F-Series Trucks Recall
12/29/2010Ford issued a recall for about 14,700 vehicles, including 2011 F-Series pickup trucks, after two trucks at its Dearborn assembly plant caught fire.
The problem is associated with a body control module (BCM) and is reportedly limited to a few days of module production by Ford's supplier. The BCM is an electrical unit that controls power to many components, such as power seats and windows, headlights and other electrical parts and accessories.
A circuit board inside the faulty BCM can malfunction and start a fire.
The 2011 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX are included in the recall.
Ford will recall vehicles in early January, 2011, and replace faulty body control modules.
