The Hudson River extends from New York City up to Albany and Troy, New York. Residential communities, shopping centers, business hubs and nature centers help to bring the river alive year-round. Joggers, city workers and tourists travel afoot along the waterway that spans across more than 300 miles. Restaurants along the Hudson River make dining convenient and relaxing for the area's residents and its massive visitor population. - The Hudson River Café opened along the Hudson River in June 1977. Since its inception, the restaurant has won several awards including the Restaurant Hall of Fame award, the New York City Council Award and the Wine Spectator Award. Gift certificates and wedding and banquet facilities and catering services for 30 to 100 people are available at the restaurant. Menu items include Taylor Bay scallops, rock lobster, rainbow trout, shellfish, veal and river café oysters. Guests can enjoy a dish of caramelized apples, goat cheese cheesecake, sorbet or chocolate toffee cake for dessert. Oenophiles can select a wine, such as Chateau Reyas, Neillon or Domaine Ramonet to toast a special event or enjoy. Hudson River Café is open Monday through Saturday from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. and then again from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m.. Events with five or more people require a reservation. Dress is casual.

With a seating capacity of 115 people Solera Restaurant serves Spanish cuisines like island oysters, baby eels, smoked salmon, grilled tenderloin and portabella mushrooms. Other menu favorites include grilled zucchini tomato tarts, salmon caviar, sweet corn salad, grilled hangar steak and lobster with red cabbage. Ten different types of red and white Spanish wine and 25 different Sherries and mantillas are available to enjoy with a meal. Banquets and other special events can be held in the meeting rooms with a reservation. Solera Restaurant is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m.. Saturdays the restaurant is open from 5:30 p.m. until 11 p.m.. Sundays Solera is closed. Dress is casual.

Diners choose from an assortment of salads like the avocado, beet or Pomello salad. Flat bread, octopus with sweet paprika and boiled potatoes and Mexican bay shrimp are popular food items.
